Dealer goes out of his way to mark up new Final Fantasy Magic cards by 200%

Magic: The Gathering launched a final fantasy Scheduled for June, but Wizards of the Coast recently announced It'll come back for another sip of the super potion.

this record-breaking expansion We won't see any new card designs, but Wizards will be offering some new artwork in the form of four scenario boxes (last seen in spiderman set), as well as the new Chocobo Bundle and the Limit Break Commander Deck (Game Edition).

Sadly, these new products sold out quickly (like any card game these days), but they're now starting to show up on the trusted resale site TCGPlayer, only all with a bit of a surprise markup.

Before we dive into the services offered through resellers, we should emphasize that we don't recommend spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on cards this way. There's always a chance we'll get new prints as the Final Fantasy series will be standard legal for a while, but if you're particularly keen on locking down cards and have enough cash to burn, you have options.

First up, the new version of the Limit Break Commander Deck offers the same 100 cards you've already found, but with a download code for the original version of Final Fantasy 7 on PC.

Is it worth spending over $180?? It's up to you, but I have to admit I like the nostalgic art on the box, showing CGI clouds looking up at Midgar. Note: Please note that this is $80 more than the Amazon list price of $99.99, and is an 80% markup.

Chocobo Bundle

first, Let’s talk about the Chocobo Bundle. From the outside, it looks like a standard booster pack, but it's a little different as it contains some Chocobo foil lands.

Inside, you'll find ten game boosters from the Final Fantasy set, a Chocobo Click Wheel (looks green and yellow), 32 Final Fantasy landmark lands (16 foil, 16 non-foil), a Birds of Paradise as Paradise Chocobo Universe Beyond promo card, and two Borderless Chocobo Trail cards.

I've just written the word “chocobo” so many times it's making my brain burn a bit, but here's one more – the Chocobo bundle includes an extra non-foil card that you can also find in the scene box.

The bundle currently has a market value of approximately $365 on TCGPlayer, but its price is expected to drop. Note: Please note that this is $255 more than the Amazon list price of $109.99, a markup of 232%.

While I know they're not for everyone, I like the idea of scene boxes and so far I've picked up Lord of the Rings and Spider-Man.

It's a great way to showcase some amazing Magic: The Gathering art, and you get six of the art cards inserted into cardboard frames, as well as versions with text so you can, you know, actually play Magic.

This time around, Wizards has created four scenario boxes, each based on a different Final Fantasy game while avoiding duplication on any game that has a Commander deck.

You can buy one of these on a trusted resale site like TCGPlayer for around $100-$110, which is a 138% markup, which is about $60-$70 more than the $41.99 list price. Here's everything included with each game, along with three Play Boosters.
