Each Trigun and Trigun Maximum hardcover deluxe edition is printed on high-quality 7″ x 10″ pages. The books have a red leatherette cover with polished foil lettering and images of weapons from the series. These hefty books also include built-in bookmarks.
Trigun was written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow and was originally published in Japan as a three-volume series from 1995 to 1996. Dark Horse later acquired North American rights and was first published in a two-volume series from 2003 to 2004.
Trigun's original storyline sets the stage for Stampede Vash and the hostile alien planet he calls home. Essentially a sci-fi western, “Trigun” tells the story of Vash as he attempts to non-violently stop a bounty hunter from claiming his $60 billion mark. Vash is a force to be reckoned with when he chooses to draw a gun or unleash an internal weapon that can punch holes in the earth, but he's also a pacifist at heart.
Unfortunately, with so many following him, he also left a trail of destruction and became known as the Human Typhoon because of these unfortunate encounters.
