Relics announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – the authoritative edition, a modern version of its 20-year-old RTS classic.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – The final version, released on PC later this year via Steam and GOG, presents the initial gameplay as fans will remember it, but optimizes for modern hardware. IGN conducts exclusive interview with Philippe Boulle, Design Director – If you integrate into the dawn of war in any way, it is worth mentioning.
Fans have long been at the dawn of the War Franchise, and the first game in the series is considered one of the best Warhammer 40,000 games of all time, a potential first game. Of course, hope Relics uses this version as a platform for creating a brand new war game. Maybe it's the dawn of War 4.
The final version includes all the dawn of the war and independent extensions (four classic war events, nine armies, and over 200 maps in one game). There are 4K support, highly textured (original texture) and image-based lighting to maintain a higher level of loyalty while retaining the classic experience. World lighting, unit reflections and shadows are all improved, and new unit gloss and emitted lighting “will faithfully enhance the moment's action.”
The camera now allows you to pull back further to see more screens, and the HUD and screen layout are optimized for widescreen viewing. Dawn of the War has also been upgraded to a 64-bit platform to support the ongoing efforts of the modified community and will be compatible with more than 20 years of community mods after release.
“The authoritative edition celebrates the initial dawn of war and retains the legacy of this landmark Warhammer 40,000 title,” said Justin Dowdeswell, CEO of Relic Entertainment.
“Warhammer 40,000 is more popular than ever, and we hope new players will experience the beginning of the classic war franchise while providing a platform for our long-term fans to relive it as a whole.”
