CKRD launches new drum kit for rhythm games

CKRD is getting the band back together, as the company behind rhythm game controllers has teased a new drum set for 2026. The trailer is short, but it does show off what looks like a comprehensive drum kit, including four color-coded pads, three cymbals, and a pedalboard.
In addition to the trailer, CKRD noted in its blog post Its goal is to use lessons learned from previous versions and fan feedback to create “truly great stuff” for players. Full disclosure will be made in the first quarter of 2026, and the company said it will make two more announcements this year.
Rhythm games have made a minor comeback over the past few years, thanks in part to the Fortnite Music Festival. The mode is essentially Guitar Hero for a new generation, with support for guitar controllers, and CKRD has a range of such peripherals available for purchase. They feature a built-in sensor for activating Star Power in Guitar Hero games, a navigation center button, a pick lever with Hall Effect and tactile feedback, and a modular mechanical neck to suit different playing styles.
These are available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and even mobile devices, and CKRD's product line is based on Gibson Les Paul guitars. This is the next model, Gibson Les Paul Cherry Sunburst Propriced at $200, will be available on November 30.
PDP also offers its own guitar controller for Rock Band 4 and Fortnite Festival, currently on sale for $120 (originally $150). PDP Rhythm Master Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4. It has a smart design and can be folded for easy storage.
