Capcom reveals our first watch Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay in short clips displayed in live streams.
During the Capcom Spotlight event, Capcom showed off a small portion of first-person gameplay, heavy in the horror film and features new protagonist FBI agent Grace Ashcroft. We see characters slowly moving along creepy corridors, while the company’s company is lighter. Once, we saw Ashcroft turn around and see a clumsy humanoid creature leaning against her from the shadow.
In another clip of first-person gameplay, we see Ashcroft exploring a large corridor, this time holding a pistol (as FBI agent Ashcroft, gun convenience). She is also able to “express with calm, deductive reasoning”, and we see her checking a toolbox in the classic Resident Evil to show off her close-up style.
Finally, we briefly cover the third-person Resident Evil Requiem gameplay, and Ashcroft once again explores the creepy corridors and poorly lit rooms. We see that terrible creature again, stepping on the shadows casually.
In the video, Capcom developers explain how first person perspective makes “tensive, realistic gameplay”, while third-person playback through a super-shoulder camera allows you to see “more action.” Capcom added that the third-person Persepctive is “very suitable for people who like the heavy-duty gameplay.”
Resident Evil Requiem allows players to switch between first-person and third-person at any time during the campaign via the options menu. View IGN's “resident Evil” For more information.
Elsewhere, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem takes place 30 years after Raccoon City took place at the end of Resident Evil 3, which explains the huge crater we see in the trailer for the announcement. Indeed, the name “Requiem” was chosen because, as Capcom explains: “This game is Requiem, and a eulogy for those who have come before.”
Leon Kennedy has no big reveal, as some fans hoped – Even expect. If Resident Evil veterans can play in the game, maybe this revelation will come later. It is worth noting that Capcom developers have made some interesting comments about Leon in the video and Resident Evil Requiem, Let's go here.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on PC on February 27, 2026, PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X and S. See all the revelations of Capcom Spotlight 2025.
