“The Bride of Rocky Horror” is a 95-page book that takes place seven years after the events of the musical. The book is published by Bit Bot Media, with a creative team including writer Magdalene Visaggio (Girlmode), artist Noemi Vettori (X-Men Unlimited), colorist Josh Rodriguez (The Brooding Muse), screenwriter Jeremiah Lambert (Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise) and cover artist Soo Lee (Carmilla). Here is the official diary of the book:
In “The Bride of the Rocky Horror Picture Show,” Janet Weiss leads a decadent and dissolute life. But when a mysterious invitation brings her back into the orbit of ex-fiancé Brad Majors, a new mystery unfolds. Who is the mysterious Bridget von Frankenstein? What secret is Brad hiding? Is it time for another time warp?
“‘Rocky Horror’ is one of my all-time favorite stories,” Visagio said in a statement. “It was the safest queer art I was exposed to at a young age because both my parents were big fans of queer art. So to have the opportunity to transcend it and see how it would play out after that fateful night was a dream come true. I tried to make something as personal and unique as O'Brien's original, riffing on themes that stood out to me in the same way that O'Brien riffed on influences from his childhood. I think Noemi and I made something truly unique.”
“As an artist, and especially as a fan of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ it means a lot to me to pay homage to our beloved characters and try to preserve their original appearance and personality as authentically as possible,” Vettori said. “I hope I can succeed in conveying what Rocky Horror embodies: chaos, passion, and rebellion. The work of Bride of Rocky Horror goes beyond mere illustrations, to transfer all the energy of a quirky and captivating musical onto the page!”
