The cost of the gearbox’s next race is headlines after development head Randy Pitchford sparked a series of controversial tweets.

Pitchford responds to a fan who expressed concern about the prospect of paying $80 Border 4said: “If you are a real fan, you’ll find a way to implement it.”

Pitchford addressed the negatives of his comments in a series of follow-up tweets, but now we've confirmed that the Borderlands 4 Standard Edition is $69.99 after all.

Borderlands 4 offers three games: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and Super Deluxe Edition, which are detailed below:

All versions are available for pre-order today and will be released worldwide on September 12, 2025. Players who book one of the versions will receive a gilded Glory Pack that includes a Vault Hunter skin, a Weapon skin and an Echo-4 drone skin.

• The standard edition includes basic gaming, which is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Steam and Epic Games store.
• The Deluxe Edition will come with a variety of bonus projects and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC for £89.99 at the Steam and Epic Games store.
  • This version includes a bounty bundle that contains four separate post-launch DLC packs, each with a different area, new missions and unique bosses; four voucher cards with unique challenges and rewards; new gear and weapons; four new cars and voucher hunter cosmetics; and Firehawk's Anger Weapons skin.
• Super Deluxe Edition will include all bonus digital content for the Deluxe Edition and will be available for £119.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC for £119.99.
  • This version also includes the “Volume Hunter” package, which contains two new story packs, each with a new insurance hunter, story and side missions. Two new map areas; new equipment and weapons; more vault hunter cosmetics; and new Echo-4 cosmetics.
  • In addition, it offers a gorgeous order pack with four vault hunter skins, four vault hunter heads and four vault hunter bodies.
