Battlefield Studios delivers on its promise Patch Battlefield 6 Portal Mode XP Farmrequiring players to unlock things like weapon attachments and gadgets the old-fashioned way—by playing the game against real people.
in a renewBattlefield Studios has made it a rule that playing in the Battlefield 6 portal lobby with bots enabled will no longer award Mastery XP or count towards Challenge Progress. However, players can still earn career XP in the bot lobby and receive a 150% XP match completion bonus. Portal lobbies without bots can still be used to earn masteries and complete challenges.
one statement Battlefield Studios said last week that its internal data showed that “a large number of[bot-enabled portal servers]were created primarily for the purpose of earning XP, inflating player statistics, and gaining special honors by defeating bots.” While the developer understands why players create these lobbies, it makes it “significantly more difficult” for players to find a non-XP farming experience in Battlefield Portal.
“Our goal moving forward is to enhance player-driven experiences that bring people together while still leaving room for customization, creativity, and new ideas,” Battlefield Studios said.
Although bot farming is now dead, Battlefield studio is still working on resolving the underlying progression issues that led players to resort to XP farming in the first place. In last week's update, Battlefield Studios increased the amount of XP earned through match completion and daily challenges, and reduced the amount of Mastery XP required to unlock the first 20 mastery levels of a weapon. Missions that require players to reach career rankings 20, 23, and 26 to unlock have also been adjusted to be unlocked at career rankings 10, 15, and 20.
More progression changes are also likely to come in the future, with Battlefield Studios saying it “recognizes the frustrations associated with the challenge itself” and will review them, but “it will take time to develop, test and implement these changes.”
