Ubisoft's next big patch Assassin's Creed Shadow Arriving tomorrow, June 25, 2025, the publisher now details everything included.
As we already know, Title Update 1.0.6 includes the game's next story pack, where Naoe and Yasuke's new ally role is played by Robbie Daymond of Critical character. Players will encounter Daymond's character Rufino and hang out with him in their hideout – although you can fall in love with him as well.
Another large addition announced earlier is a new nightmare difficulty. Now, further details will be given on what this will constitute, and the perfect parrot is required to deflect the hit without any damage, fewer combat resources, and smarter enemies, able to see and hear Naoe's movements even when crouching or in the shadows.
For the challenges encountered in general, Ubisoft has added an open world alert system that extends the terrifying guardians of the Shadows’ Warriors’ footsteps outside castles and enemy camps. Now, Naoe and Yasuke can earn a wanted position in the open world if you repeatedly play naughty and attack civilians or military forces.
For the rest of 2025, Ubisoft will continue to add a small number of additional story tasks, along with other fixes and features to add some time before the end of this year, for the rest of 2025.

New Free Story Pack: “Critical Encounter”
- remuneration: Based on Robbie Daymond's new ally of the campaign character Rufino. You will also get banners with key character logos in the hiding place.
- New Trophy/Achievements: The “critical encounter” received after Questline is completed.
New Nightmare Difficulty Settings
- Players' defensive choices are less efficient, and the enemy causes greater damage at all levels.
- For example, Parries now needs perfect timing to deflect hits – imperfect parries will only partially block incoming damage.
- In various situations, the enemy's AI is smarter, faster and more aggressive, including detection.
- For example, even when squatting, Naoe now makes some sound! Even in the shadows, you can see her while moving!
- For example, enemies will no longer be vulnerable to Dodge or Paris – only abilities can put them in a vulnerable state.
- Fighting resources (such as adrenaline, rations, and shinobi items) are harder to obtain, making their use even more important.
Switch headdress in cutscenes
- Note that in movies or in certain specific cases, the headwear will not appear in specific cases where the rule overrides this setting (romantic cutscenes specific).
VFX switch
- Players can now disable/enable specific VFX to further customize their experience. These include the ability to hide or display loot on corpses, the player's last known position, the enemy's special attack indicators, and more. All of this is accessible in the Interface Options menu.
Open World Alert
- We have extended the area alert system available in the castle to the entire province. Now, by repeatedly attacking civilians or military units outside the castle, an alarm can be triggered and a group of guardians will hunt you in the world.
Horse camera preset
- Now you can switch between 3 different camera presets while riding on the mount (press and hold down the down button of the “X” key on the keyboard while riding), making a more cinematic experience gained in the full beauty of Japan.
Ultra-low specifications of PC
- We are adding a new level of visual quality, the ultra-low mode. This will allow the GPU-configured PC player to experience the game in better frame conditions.
General
- Fixed an issue where the Onryo mask is still visible despite the option of hiding gears.
- Fixed an issue where players could not earn mastery points.
- Fixed an issue where the mastery point was not returned after resetting the mastery tree.
- Fixed an issue where players could no longer switch characters even without gameplay context restrictions.
- Fixed an issue where allies could be trained to veteran rankings without upgrading Dojo to Level 3.
- Fixed an issue where Gennojo did not appear in the hiding place immediately after recruitment. He is busy washing his hair!
- Fixed an issue where sometimes players could not travel anywhere quickly by allowing them to quickly go to the hiding place.
- Fixed an issue where ONI drawings were still stuck on the screen after completing the “Visual of Realm” task.
- Fixed various localization issues.
Task
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to improve in the “opportunity encounter” mission while following Fuyu.
- Fixed an issue where the task could not be completed after defeating all Kabukimono.
- Fixed an issue where Mrs. Ochi's letter was unavailable after the Fuji-Maru cutscene.
- Fixed an issue where players could not talk to Katsuhime while sitting on the ground. She just wants some peace and tranquility!
- Fixed an issue where the “Temple Story” task was tracked to show only a progress criterion without text.
- Fixed an issue where Genzaburo's Teppo master was missing in Kaya Shrine.
- Fixed an issue where Yagyu Munetoshi revealed later plot points in the “Students of Nobutsuna” mission.
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to assassinate Void's Godai because of the lack of NPC. He took his name too seriously.
- Fixed an issue where players could not complete the “Rokkaku Lady Diary” mission after Dodge scrolls and drops katsuhime.
- Fixed an issue where players could not complete the “Rokkaku Lady Diary” mission when there was no immediate choice to choose Katsuhime.
- Fixed an issue where players encountered exceptions in the “Head Will Scroll” task, which made unavailable Animus activity.
- Fixed an issue where players could not improve on the Lost Honors mission because the game failed to switch to Naoe.
- Fixed an issue where players could not make progress in the game after death.
Vision and graphics
- Fixed some minor visual issues.
- The visual elements of Mount Kusarigama with dark woods are fixed.
- Fixed an issue where all NPC horses seemed to be the same.
- Fixed a tailoring issue with Naoe's Sekiryu clothing.
- Fixed the issue of “Blooded Katana” that is visible when spread.
- Fixed a motion physics issue with Dead by Daylight Oni's armor.
Voice
- Fixed an issue where audio occasionally stopped when opening the map while moving.
