Arc Raiders patch notes tease a “very hot fix” for the lockroom bug, and now cheaters are being cooked

Arclight Guide Developer Embark Studios released update 1.4.0 this week, teasing a “very hot fix for the locked room bug” in the patch notes. Turns out they weren't kidding.
After the patch was released, players – as they often do – jumped into the highly successful extraction shooter to give the fix a proper test. They're able to trick their way into the locked room just like before, but what they now find inside is… well, Embark calls it a “very hot solution” for a reason.
As a Reddit user Forward_Proble_7550 foundlocked rooms will now turn you into a fireball if you malfunction inside. The clip below shows the trap in action.
Reaction to the change has been positive, with most players happy with what Embark has done. “The best part is when the clown makes a glitch and loses everything to the person who opens the door legally with a key. Classic!” A_Torured_Crab was excited. “This is a really good solution,” added Vidomedo. “Hopefully that's their mentality going forward. Punish the exploiters and reward the legitimate players.”
Now, some players say they prefer to use keys to legally enter locked rooms, hoping to find “some dude who didn't read the patch notes.”
Technically, this isn't a solution, as players can still exploit the bug to gain access to locked rooms. But it's a compelling workaround, and will definitely deter players from trying to trick their way into a room after being cooked once.
“It would be better if they launched it without saying anything,” Maverixk_ suggested. “Imagine all the door malfunctions finding out about this and losing everything before word of mouth spread. That would be hilarious.”
That's not all the update is about. It also fixes the gun quick swap bug. The full patch notes are below.
