“Redesigned from the ground up with incredible detail, while retaining the aesthetics of both games,” the modder said. Every town, settlement, and camp has been “carefully” recreated in Nuevo Paraíso to “capture the essence of Mexico, with each area featuring new vegetation, clean roads and trails, new locations, and immersive landscapes inspired by the natural movement of the inhabitants' daily lives.”
“Militaries patrol the border, and in some places, secrets and remnants of the past remain,” the description teases. “Discover new secrets, new mini-missions, and unique locations that expand the game world without losing its core character. Every detail has been carefully considered to perfectly match the atmosphere, lighting, and tone of Red Dead Redemption 2, delivering a seamless and cohesive experience that is true to the classic.”
Nuevo Paraiso — Forgotten Frontier is currently available in Early Access and can be downloaded from Nexus Mod. It's currently in an unfinished state, but the creators say players can look forward to “new areas to explore, adapted mechanics, and a completely rebuilt world” that will allow them to “travel back to Mexico and rediscover what the state was like in 1907.”
There's no confirmed release date yet, but the team invites interested players to “stay tuned for more details as we prepare for this massive expansion, which is considered full-fledged DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.”
