Rockstar re-released the series over the summer with a new suggested retail price of $30. Prior to the re-release, GTA: Trilogy sold for $60 in stores. It's still $60 digitally on the Nintendo eShop, so the $10 discount feels more like $40.

Red Dead Redemption Also included in Amazon’s early black friday 2025 Priced at $25. Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – Definitive Edition is different from the physical version of Red Dead Redemption and needs to be downloaded from the Nintendo Switch eShop. When the reprint was announced, Amazon initially showed off a game box without a “Download Required” sticker on the front, but it was the same physical version of the original released more than three years ago.
The physical version requires about 9GB to be downloaded from the eShop, which is certainly not ideal for those who like to collect real physical copies. That said, you'll still save a lot of storage space compared to the pricier digital version on the Switch eShop. The combined file size of these three games is 25.4GB, so there is approximately 16GB of data stored on the Switch game card.
The series had some major performance and visual issues at launch, many of which weren't addressed until after launch Rockstar revolutionizes the console experience last fall. It's not perfect for any console, but it's a significant improvement, and with the physical version so cheap now, it's definitely worth checking out.
