Amazon Mario Kart blind box includes 10 back-stocked cars for $21

With the holidays right around the corner, now is a great time to start shopping for some affordable stocking stuffers or party favors. If a Super Mario fan is on your shopping list, Amazon has a pair of officially licensed mystery boxes for a low price. We originally published this story in late October, when we discovered TOMY's Yoshi Clockwork Mystery Eggs 12-piece set. You can still buy a dozen Yoshi for $23.63, but now you can also buy 10 Mario Kart toys for $21.17. These deals are shipped and sold by Amazon. By buying the entire box at the store instead of individual capsules, you pay much less. Super Mario Mystery Capsules like this one usually sell for $5 or $6 each in stores, but when you buy these boxes, each figure costs about $2.

Inspired by Japanese gashapon machines, these egg-shaped capsules can each hold a Clockwork Yoshi. There are six colors in the collection: blue, red, purple, yellow, green and pink.

You can wind them up and watch them walk on a flat surface or race side by side. The box the capsule comes in is pretty cool too.

Blind box toys are a must-have at grocery and department store checkout counters. If you're a parent, you've probably either purchased an overpriced gacha toy or explained to your child why you shouldn't spend $6 on a small plastic figure. But what about $2 Mario figures? Each capsule has a character and a logo sticker that is placed on the front of the kart. Since these are pull-back cars, you simply drag the kart backwards to tighten it, then loosen it and watch the race unfold.

These aren't blind boxes, but they have a similar appeal to the minifigures in the Super Mario-themed question block containers. Unfortunately, you won't see Yoshi as he's not in the movie.

Nintendo fans can also purchase some collectible toys inspired by the world of Kirby and Pikmin.
