All the miracle Easter eggs in Insomniac's Wolverine Trailer

clothing

If Insomniac's Spider-Man game shows any signs, fans may expect Wolverine's various costumes, many taking straight from X-Men comics and movies over the past few years. But like Spider-Man, there will certainly be a major costume – the default look Logan will be embodied for most of the game. Thanks to the new trailer, we finally know what that costume will be.

Wolverine's main outfit looks inspired by a suit designed by John Cassaday, which debuted in the surprising X-Men in 2004. This is an update to the classic blue and yellow outfits of the 70s and 90s X-Books. It's not surprising to see that route from Insomniac Go. Amazing costumes became the default appearance of Wolverine for a full decade (until he was temporarily killed Wolverine died in 2014). It's a much-loved outfit because it combines the classic look of Wolverine with a more modern sensibility. Insomniac uses some extra white elements to decorate its own Spider-Man design to make its character more content with getting closer to the original material in this case.

It is worth pointing out that this is also the costume of Miracle Studios, which finally put Hugh Jackman in yellow and blue spandex. We see a lot of similarities between Insomniac’s Wolverine design and Deadpool & Wolverine’s design. In either case, this is not a fitted spandex, but a tactic and sturdy measure for a surprising suit. The biggest difference is that in terms of comic accuracy, Insomniac is becoming more and more popular. This Wolverine has no sleeves on the shoulder pads, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine never rocks this exact look in the movie.

The trailer makes it clear that Logan doesn't always wear his X-Men uniform. Given the circle he ran to, in some places, it doesn't pay the same price as the main color superhero.

We see two different civilian costumes in the trailer. One is the original trailer familiar look of the red plaid shirt, jeans and denim hat. We see Logan wearing more understated outfits as he enters the princess bar in Madripoor. It's a classic work of Wolverine's civilian costume, and it's back to X-Men major artists like John Byrne.

Other clothes saw Logan wearing a brown bomber jacket. This seems to be a tribute to the X-Men: the animated series. In that show, if we weren't wearing Logan's standard yellow outfit, he might be shaking his brown coat.

If anyone in the Marvel Universe had a closet deep enough to compete with Peter Parker, it was Wolverine.

But again, we doubt there will be no lack of other costume options in the game, including unlockable suits, booking bonuses and DLC costumes. If anyone in the Marvel Universe had a closet deep enough to compete with Peter Parker, it was Wolverine.

Some clothing is almost given. We can't get more traditional blue and yellow outfits, as well as the brown outfits that Wolverine was equally iconic in the 1980s. The same goes for his black and grey X-Force outfits. We'll definitely get the weapon X Wolverine, which comes with a VR helmet and a black Speedo. The blue and red costumes that Wolverine began with the Apocalypse crossover era seem to be another safe bet. Of course, there are all the mandatory suits from Fox movies, such as the original X-Men trilogy, the days to come and Logan.

But even that barely scratches the surface there. Given that some games take place in Madrid Pool, can we see the patch disguise of Logan? What about his X-Clothing House? His black leather new X-Men costume? His team X costume? The game does have the opportunity to dig deep into Wolverine’s extensive back catalog to reach all the value. Be sure to tell us in the comments about the costumes you want to see most in the game.

Location

Wolverine is nothing if not a long hero of the world, and his solo adventures often take him out of Xavier’s schools to enjoy talented young men and international locations such as Canada, Japan and Madripur. It seems all three countries will be unveiled in the game, and we have to assume that Logan's trip will not end. We would be very disappointed if we didn’t have a part of the game that allowed Wolverine to wreak havoc on the dinosaurs on barbaric land.

The trailer shows us several scenes set up in Madrid Poor, a dirty island country that is basically a Singaporean version of Marvel. Madripoor also made his MCU debut at The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021, but sadly Wolverine is nowhere to be found there. Logan usually relaxes, gets drunk, gambles and falls into other types of pranks. The game seems ready to offer a lot of pranks, and we can confirm that Logan will visit his favorite puddle, the Princess Bar.

The competition part will also be set in Japan, with a country's Wolverine having maintained a deep connection with his first solo comic series in 1982. Japan is Wolverine falls in love with the fair wife Mariko Yashida, fighting with her cruel father Shingen, and becoming friends with Plucky Ninja Yukio. This game will dabble in these characters and how much (if any) they have to do with Logan remains to be seen, but we definitely want to see the game explore his samurai side.

Several scenes in the trailer also apparently happen in the Canadian wilderness. There were no big surprises there. After all, Wolverine was born in Canada and for some reason he always seemed to be heading north. Sometimes, he just stayed alone for a while and enjoyed the outdoors. At other times, he is dealing with nasty organizations like Weapon X or Department. If we had to guess, we would say that the game might be dealing with deep competition between Wolverine and Weapon X, the institution that covered bones with tenacious metal years ago.

Interestingly, this Universal approach seems to indicate a change in the recipe compared to the Spider-Man game. Marvel's Wolverine will not be set up in a single city like New York, but in several different areas of the city and rural areas. The trailer lens makes it seem as if it is no longer focused on the traversal of the open world. This makes sense, because Wolverine is not actually capable of darting in the open area with the same speed and grace as Spidey. Marvel's Wolverine may fit into smaller linear levels compared to Marvel's Spider-Man and its sequel. However, we will determine when Insomniac will showcase more games in spring 2026.

douchebag

Although he didn't go beyond stabbing, slicing and killing anyone who was in the way of himself, Wolverine built one of the largest and most well-known rogue galleries in the Marvel Universe. It takes a special villain to parallelize with dangerous people like James “Logan” Howlett and return to another round. And, if there is anything to be gained from the new trailer, it is that we will see a few of these villains during the game.

One shot shows Wolverine fighting Omega Red, a Russian mutant, tentacles. Omega's red is particularly dangerous not only because of its enhanced strength and durability, but because he can emit “death spores” that can kill ordinary humans under a hat. His tentacles are forged from carbide rock, which is basically a kind of King Kong male strike, almost as good as a real deal. But the same carbonaceous substance also poisoned his body, forcing the Omega Red to deplete other people's lives like a vampire.

The competition between Wolverine and Omega Red can be traced back to Logan's pre-X era, when he was a member of the strike force known as Team X. Both men are examples of continuous creation of better and stronger super soldiers, with no loss of love between them.

We also see the mystery of shape changes in the trailer. Mystique is not only a professional martial artist, but also can imitate anyone. But, she couldn't fool Logan's sense of enhancement.

Because like Logan, Raven is functionally immortal, they have been slamming their heads since the early 20th century.

It remains to be seen how many confrontations the roles played in the game are. While Mystique is often an enemy of the X-Men, it is not a very selfish villain. She will do everything she can to protect herself and her family. Over the years, she and Wolverine have frequent conflicts. Because like Logan, Raven is functionally immortal, they have been slamming their heads since the early 20th century. We think the game will dig deeper into the long and dirty history between them.

Later in the trailer, we also catch a glimpse of a sentry, self-activated, and rise to fight Wolverine. Sentinel is a giant robot designed specifically for one purpose – hunting and killing mutants. A sentry can easily grab several X-Men at a time, and they rarely hunt alone. Even Wolverine's metal claws are hard to make scrap metal from sentinels.

We won't be surprised to see the game take on an extended battle between the 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine Game. Logan's full reason in Canada might even involve infiltration of sentinel plants. We may also see smaller sentinel variants, so Wolverine has more enemies to cut outside of boss battles.

Finally, the trailer shows several scenes of Wolverine cutting cybernetic soldiers. We guess these are predators, the mercenaries are enhanced on the web, and they often target Logan in the comics. Just like Insomniac's Spider-Man game has multiple factions of enemies, such as the Inner Demon and Craven's Mercenary, we think the Raiders are a faction Wolverine will fight repeatedly during the game.

They certainly won't be the only enemy faction in the game. Other options include Weapon X Soldier, Hand Ninja and Hydra Agent. We also have a strong doubt that Omega Red and Mystery are the only major villains in the game. Can insomnia make Wolverine games without sabretooth? What about the death of the silver warrior and his wife? Logan has a lot of enemies and we hope to have a chance to stab them when the fall 2026 game is finally released.
