Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutchman returns to the world of Predators with an extended version of the animated film Killer's killer – It sends fans of the long-running sci-fi franchise, a legendary rabbit hole that questions the ending of the original movie and is considered a Canon Predator video game.
This week at San Diego Comic Con 2025, current Predator Trustee Dan Trachtenberg announced The surprise extension of the Killer's Killer, showing the original predator and Danny Glover's Mike Harrigan. Trachtenberg said that in a Comic-Con group, Schwarzenegger blessings use Dutch in future stories, which opens up the killer's killer, which will put the Dutch and Co against the Predator again.

The Extended Version of Killer is now out, so fans have analyzed it within an inch of its life. The reaction seems to be mixed. While some are excited about the return of the iconic character, others are disappointed with the idea of Yautja kidnapping the victorious human. Let's remember the iconic scene at the end of Predator 2, in which one elder, Yautja, uses Harrigan with an antique flintlock pistol as a trophy. The suggestion now is that Harrigan was later kidnapped and fell into stagnation, which some think would devalue the human victory seen in previous Predator movies.
“Just knowing that your favorite human survivor will be kidnapped by another person or warlord and may be killed in the arena is like shit,” he said. Redditor vector_mortis says.
“Why did Yautja congratulate Harrigan, give him a pistol, and then leave just to come back, get the pistol, kidnap him?” Wonder slow_obligation2286.
“I don't like this at all,” Hanesman12 added. “Harrigan and Dutch ended well. Zero reason needs to be done. Pure nostalgia bait.”
“This removes our previous knowledge of the timelines for the Netherlands and Harrigan,” OriginalName888 said. “This removes the honor code. This removes everything.”
Fans are now giving potential explanations about what’s going on here: the entire kidnapping of human survivors is the work of the Yautja tribe we see in the killer, and that doesn’t mean the entire Yautja. Perhaps this particular tribe has been rogue and will eventually be replaced. We have to wait and see about this, but it is irrefutable that now the Dutch and Harrigan have been kidnapped shortly after the events of the film and have been in a standstill for this uncertain moment in the future.
However, there is another tricky predator knowledge question that can revolve around Dutch. 2020 Predator: Hunting GroundDeveloped by Illfonic, he re-enacted his Dutch role as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Before the game's release, the developers talked about working with former rights holders Fox (before Disney purchased the company and its franchise) to consolidate their position in the official Predator legend.
This is exciting for fans, as it means the hunting ground officially reveals what happened to the Dutch after the incident in the first Predator movie – no mention of being kidnapped by Yautja. Indeed, the hunting grounds show the Dutch in 2025.
So, isn’t the hunting ground no longer a Canon? Did Trachtenberg ignore it? Is there another explanation? These are just some of the questions fans are trying to answer after the Dutch Killer returns to Killer.
Regardless of Trachtenberg's master plan, there is still a lot of interest in the upcoming Predators: Badlands, whose first 15 minutes are shown on Comic-Con. The alien franchise link is clearbut will there be AVP movies in the future? We must wait and see.
