Change developers confirm that it uses generated AI text and translations, promising updates

Alters Developer 11 BIT Studios has responded to fan accusations that it uses generated AI text and translations in the game, and promises to update both to replace AI-generated content with manual assets.

We have seen extensive allegations about what is generated using AI in change, and we think it is important to clarify our approach and provide you with more context. During development, the assets generated by AI are strictly used as temporary WIPs and are used in a very limited way. Our team always prioritizes meaningful hand-crafted storytelling as one of the foundations of our game.
During production, one of our graphic designers used an AI-generated graphic asset text for a graphic asset that was used as a background texture. This was never intended to be part of the final version. Unfortunately, this single placeholder text was mistakenly left in the game due to internal supervision. Since then, we have conducted a thorough review and confirmed that this is an isolated case where the assets in question are being updated.
For transparency, we included a screenshot to show how and where in the game. While we don't want to downplay this, we also want to make it clear that it has limited impact on your gaming experience.
In addition, in the final stage of development, some licensed movies that can be watched in the base social field were added. Although these are produced externally, our team is not involved in the creative process, and these require additional last-minute translation. Due to extreme time constraints, we chose not to participate in translation partners and use AI to localize these videos to get them ready to start. As part of our localized Hotfix, we always intend to engage our trusted translation agencies to ensure that these texts are handled the same way as the rest of the game. The process is in progress and an updated translation is being implemented.
To give you a better understanding of a small part of the overall scope of the game's narrative layer, a few external movies are about 3.4 million words in all languages in the game, or only 0.3% of the overall text.
