Ryan Reynolds' “Dragon's Lair” movie may finally have a director

In 2020, Ryan Reynolds was cast in Dragon's Lair, a live-action film based on the 1983 animated arcade game. The project hasn't had much momentum over the past five years, but now the Dragon's Nest is hovering on the director, and it may eventually move forward.
As reported Insneide And confirm Hollywood ReporterJames Bobin is currently in conversation with Helm Dragon's Lair, but his deal is not yet completed. Bobin previously directed Disney's critically acclaimed Muppets reboot in 2011, and its sequel Muppets most wanted. His other honors include Dora and the Lost City of Gold, as well as the mysterious Benedict Society and the flying series by Percy Jackson and the Olympic athletes.
The anime legend Don Bluth co-created the Dragon's Lair in 1983 with Gary Goldman, Jon Pomeroy and Rick Dyer, and the era of this game was revolutionary. The players control the bold Dirk, a silent knight who breaks into a deadly castle to save Daphne from a dragon named Singe. Every room in the castle is filled with traps or enemies, and Dirk dies if the player makes a wrong move.
The first Dragon's Lair gave birth to a brief animated series, with the sequel “Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp” released on arcades in 1991. Dragon's Nest Game – along with other popular songs from Blues' animated arcades, Space Ace – was moved to consoles and computers.
In 2015, Bluth and Goldman crowdfunded Animated movie for Dragon's Nestand was not picked up in the end. Bluth, Goldman and Pomeroy are producers with Reynolds, who are still committed to playing the bold Dirk.
Netflix has not set a date for Dragon's Lair yet, nor has it held another role. But with directors, it may change soon.
