To celebrate the release of Nintendo Switch 2 – and the 19 (!) different Zelda games available to play on the system now – the IGN Guides team has made several upgrades to ensure help is available when it is most needed. Not everyone needs a walkthrough to end, but we hope these new features and upgrades will inspire even the most flavored Zelda player to go back and discover things they might have missed or skipped.
Speaking of Smooth Sailing, we hope you are as excited as we are going to revisit one of Gamecube’s best games, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Yes, that means the slow tail and long Triforce charts/Shard Quest found in the OG version are back – you may need to use our guide to make sure you are not heading in the wrong direction. Our Wind Waker guide was originally written in 2002, but we have made some big upgrades to make it a new career in the Switch 2! Here is what you can expect:
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Guide and Map
We overhauled and drilled our guide with new high-resolution screenshots, added page tracking, checklists, new videos and fundamentally upgraded our interactive map. Not only did we show you the desktop or mobile version of the map in the game, we could also redo it from scratch, and now you can zoom in all the time to see each island, enemy platforms and submarines close up. The Legend of Zelda: The Past Guide and Links to Maps
surprise! A few weeks ago, we quietly stole the update to the classic links to past guides – if you've never played or finished this 2D OpenWorld Gem, you might be worse than playing it on Nintendo Switch on any Switch Console via Nintendo Switch. It may not have hundreds of collections of its 3D successor, but there are a lot to discover on the dual maps linked to the past.

We might be a bit LTTP (sorry) – but we found that “it's better to be late than not” and launched a full interactive map that allows you to track every piece of heart and discover every cave and secret hidden in the 1991 classic. We also added a list and brand new screenshots throughout the guide to make it all shiny and new!

In addition to these selected Zelda games and guides that have been upgraded this month, the Nintendo Switch 2 can certainly find more Zeldas. Whether it's Hyrule Arrule Arear's spin-offs, Skyward Sword, NES, Game Boy Color and Advance Boy Color and Advance Classics, or our two 64-bit favorites, IGN Guides cover you. And, if enough people find links to our past and the Wind Waker map helps, maybe we'll also give some upgrades to some of these guides.
