Ryu Ga Gotoku's shiny, mysterious new Alt History Action Game Project Century gets a new trailer at Summer Game Fest with more information, more questions and a brand new name: Stranger rather than paradise.
A stranger than heaven is First revealed at the Game Awards Last December as a project century, but there is little information about what the game actually is. We know it was developed by Yakuza creator Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and has similar action combat that we have seen elsewhere in the series…albeit with a significant upgrade. For example, the menu is smoother, the blood and the battle is more cruel, and there is never a choice in Yakuza to “show mercy” or “not mercy”.
While this new trailer knows what to expect, it also raises more questions. For example, the original Project Century trailer was set up in Japan in 1915. This one was obviously set up in 1943. Why are there two different time periods? Is this a time travel game, or is it a game with just a beautiful flashback/time skip? Where is this in Japan? Is this the advice on the bridge? Or kamurocho? Or a new place?
Then, both traditional Japanese images are mixed with classic Americans, and like some alternative reality, there are multiple eras and cultures that collapse. We have seen that in both trailers there was discord in their respective eras, and while it is obvious that the game is going on in Japan, it is not clear what is happening here. Fans already have theoryand after this new trailer, they will surely form more.
Finally, we learned at least one character’s name: Mako Daito. he seem Become the protagonist, but how things go, even know? He had some wild blue eyes and hinted that he was a little weird in a brief conversation, but it was not clear what it was. last year, Suggest a weird teasing That Snoopy Dog might be in this game as well. That's an interesting actor.
