Resident Evil 9 announced at Summer Game Festival with trailer and release date

Capcom quickly pulls among the thrilling fans of Resident Evil Summer Competition Festival 2025first laughing at the upcoming information about the new Resident Evil Title sometime in the future, then ending the show in the trailer for the next main title in Survival Horror Franchise, Survival Crisis.
Capcom also revealed the release date of the game: February 27, 2026. Check out the trailer below.
Early in the show, Capcom acknowledged the “newest Resident Evil game and Resident Evil 30th anniversary, but asked fans to wait longer for information in the game. In a brief video segment, Resident Crisis executive producer Jun Takeuchi thanked fans for their continued support.
“Now, the latest Resident Evil game about the ones you all are waiting for…being endured for a longer time, with only more eyes, it's ready.”
The video also includes a bunch of iconic images from the franchise, such as the “Welcome to Raccoon City” logo, the Raccoon City Police Department typewriter, the city map, and the footage of Mrs. Dimitrescu, The Breakthrough Little Man, from Heritage Evil Village. The video also features Maggie Robertson, who made a voice from Dimitrescu, singing a weird sing on “Happy Birthday.”
Capcom had previously announced on display cabinets in 2024 The next Resident Evil Is Going– and Probably teased in Resident Evil 4 Sales Milestone Post Back in April – with game director Koshi Nakanishi led the charge. Over the years, Nakanishi Resident Evil 7many people think this is a key turning point in the series.
“We are creating a new Resident Evil. It's really hard what to do after (Resident Evil) 7,” Nakanishi said last year. “But I found it and to be honest, it feels important.”
