Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch 2 compatibility issues breaking the game with MII fighters, Nintendo politely asked fans to stop using characters until a fix is deployed

Nintendo has updated its list Switch 2 Compatibility issues requirements Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Owners avoid using MII fighter characters as they are currently breaking the game.
According to Nintendo's Japanese Support website (Thanks, Oatmeal), MII fighter issues are only played online with Smash Bros. Ultimate and are playing between one person on Switch 1 and another on Switch 2.
In this case, if a player uses a MII fighter, Nintendo warns that the online game may end immediately, kicking two players out before the usual impact.
Nintendo hasn't explained why this problem happened, although the fact is limited to MII characters, which may suggest that the situations of how the generations of the two consoles handle custom avatars differently – rather than letting the game give up on the game.
Indeed, Nintendo also warns that MII fighter thumbnails may not be properly saved on the Switch 2, indicating some kind of compatibility issue.
“The update will be released soon,” Nintendo said.
Originally released in December 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of Nintendo's best-selling Switch 1 games with over 36 million dungeons. With the series’ largest roster and years of extra content, the game earned the ultimate nickname – leaving many fans wondering what the next step in the series might be.
Nintendo recently announced a new game for Smash Bros. series owner Masahiro Sakurai – although this is not the new Smash Bros. title. Instead, senior designer and director are researching Kirby Aviation RiderThis is a fresh game for Nintendo's pink fluffy balls, which will be launched on Switch 2 later in 2025.
