Sony is breaking the PlayStation Star Stars Rewards program

In 2022, Sony unveiled PlayStation Star Rewards ProgramThis provides dedicated players with the opportunity to earn digital collectibles. Now, less than three years later, Sony announced that it will end the PlayStation Stars program in the near future.

Sony commend PlayStation stars promote “building deeper connections with fans around the world.” But the video game company went on to say that after evaluating the PlayStation star, it decided to end it. As of today, PlayStation stars no longer accept new members. Existing members who have closed their membership will also not be able to rejoin.

The end of the program will not be completed at once. Members are still able to improve their PlayStation star status and earn more digital collections on July 23 at 7:59 am / 10:59 AM ET / BST at 3:59 PM. After this, no other rewards or campaigns are offered. Players will still be able to cash out the PlayStation star rewards until November 2, 2026. Sony also assured players that they still have access to their digital collections, even after these changes have occurred.”

Throughout the announcement, Sony refers to the “this version” of the PlayStation star, while adding that it will “evaluate our critical findings and explore new ways to develop our work on loyalty programs to the future.” Sony also thanks all the players who participated in the PlayStation star.

In other Sony-related news Free PlayStation Plus Games in May Will be available until June 2nd. The title of this month includes Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun and fan favorites Balatro.
