Mafia: Old Country There are release dates: August 8, 2025, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
The gangster game developed by Hangar 13 also features a new trailer that shows combat and new stealth mechanics.
Below, we also have some new screenshots showing the Mafia: The Old Country.
The announcement comes with some interesting quotes from developers and publisher 2K. Hangar 13 President Nick Baynes describes the Mafia as an “old country” as a “focused, linear experience that combines quality storytelling, real era immersion and a sophisticated attitude to familiar mafia gameplay”.
He continued: “This focus allows us to tell a story of tenacity, rooting, cruelty and emotional excitement. Embrace Sicily in the early 1900s, a story of the origins of the mafia, following our protagonist, Enzo Favara, who was sworn in and worked hard.”
2K President David Ismailer added: “We don't think that appealing stories require a lot of time commitment.
“We are excited to offer games like the Mafia: the old country in our portfolio and provide a linear highly polished narrative experience that can easily complement other more enduring games that our players also like and interact with more consistently.”
According to these comments, the Mafia: The old country will be a relatively short matter. There is no multiplayer mode, so the story is the entire package.
Maybe that's why the Standard Edition costs $49.99 on all platforms, while the Deluxe Edition costs $59.99. Here is the decomposition, each 2k:
Mafia: The Old Country will be available in two versions: Standard and Deluxe. Both versions are available for pre-order today and will be released worldwide on August 8, 2025.
- The standard edition includes a full base game, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC for $49.99.

Additionally, it offers Gatto Nero Pack with the “Bodeo Nero” pistol, “Velocità” charm, “Gatto Nero” racing costumes and “Carozella Nero” racing cars, as well as original scores and digital artworks, including concept art and developer notes.

In December, IGN interviews Baynes and Game Director Alex Cox about everything about the Mafia: Old Countryand the prospects that are opposite to the GTA 6. GTA 6 Delay from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026of course this is no longer a problem.
In the interview, the two dismissed the comparison with GTA 6 and insisted that the Mafia: The old country should not be regarded as an open world game at all.
Instead, the couple persevered: Mafia: The old country is more like Mafia 1 and 2 than the open world Mafia 3. This is a “linear, narratively driven” game, a “focused packaging” that provides a “movie experience”. You might find yourself around the real representation of Sicily in the 1900s in the Mafia: the Old Country, even riding like other rock star games, but the resemblance to Rockstar Games stops there.
