The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Ubisoft said in a brief announcement that it has exceeded 2 million players. The news came about 15 months after the release of the lost Crown in January 2024, and Ubisoft appears to be making fun of the series’ bright future.
Ubisoft said on the official X account of Prince of Persia: “So far, there are more than 2 million players.
So far, more than 2 million players.
You have restored the legend. The prince is back, believe us-he is just warming up. pic.twitter.com/hswpqugfvz– Prince of Persia™ (@princeofpersia) April 30, 2025
However, Ubisoft provides speculation for the Persian prince. The company disbanded its lost Royal Development team in October 2024 due to undervalued sales and did not give up despite being driven to different parts of Ubisoft. It is worth noting that 2 million players are not the same as 2 million sales. Ubisoft's subscription service, Ubisoft+, has lost crowns on it and is also part of PS Plus Extra and Premium.
The lost crown is released, including Steve Watts of Gamespothe called it “so confident and impeccable elaborate that for the foreseeable future, this should be just the identity of the Prince of Persia.” Ubisoft reportedly rejected the idea of a lost crown sequel before breaking up with the development team, although the company never confirmed whether it was true.
at the same time, The Prince of Persia: The Sand of Time The remake is still under development and is clearly expected to be released sometime in 2026. Ubisoft first announced the project in 2020, although the project was delayed several times, including “Indefinite Delay” in 2021and completely restart development in 2023. It re-entered all production in June 2024, although Ubisoft has made no statement about the project since then.
