A 'truly special' new Total War game will be revealed at The Game Awards

Developer Creative Assembly has announced that it is developing a “truly special” Total War game that represents one of the developer's “most ambitious” games ever and will be released in Game Awards soon.

“This is a long-gestating project that will mark a revolutionary new chapter in the Total War series,” developer says.

Whatever the project is, it will be announced at The Game Awards on Thursday, December 11. Creative Assembly will launch a trailer and show off a “first look at gameplay.”

“It's been worth the wait,” the developer said.

Creative Assembly says that on December 16, the developers will “share some insights into the game's vision and future development.”

This will be the third Total War game currently being produced by Creative Assembly, joining Total War: Medieval 3 and Total War: Warhammer III – Lord of Armageddon. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Total War series.

What could the mysterious Total War game be? It's anyone's guess, but some speculate it could be The long-rumored Star Wars Total War game.
