Fortnite's Storm Circle looks weird this morning, and here's why

Epic Games comes up with a new way to promote fortniteof Chapter 6 Ending Event Chapter 7 will be available this weekend: the storm circle will briefly transform into “Storm Seven” for an hour on Tuesday morning. Take a look at this:

The change occurred at 6 a.m. PT and resumed at 7 a.m., with all games starting within this hour window showing this strange new storm circle. The change is a publicity stunt meant to build hype for the release of Chapter 7 on Saturday, November 29 – the Chapter 7 finale live event will only happen once, but is Fortnite's biggest event of the year, as it typically attracts tens of millions of players no matter what spectacle Epic pulls out.

But the emphasis on the number 7 isn't just because we're about to start Chapter 7. At the finale live event, we're also looking forward to the return of The Seven – Fortnite's Avengers-esque superhero team that was led by Dwayne “Foundation” Johnson until they were eaten by the evil Liquid Chromium at the end of Chapter 3. No members of The Seven have been seen since the beginning of Chapter 4, and the game almost completely stops referencing them in Chapter 5, so their return will be a big deal.

The Chapter 6 finale will air on November 29 at 11 a.m. PT/2 p.m. ET, with virtual doors opening 40 minutes earlier. You can read more about the event here.
