Far Cry to be adapted into a TV series from Rob Mack and Alien Earth creator Noah Hawley

Far Cry is bringing its special brand of chaos to FX and streaming service Hulu with a new series based on the game. “Alien Earth”'s Noah Hawley serves as showrunner, while “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia”'s Rob Mac stars and produces.
“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it's an anthology. Each game is a variation on a theme, just like every season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” Hawley said.
“Making a massive action movie that changes every year, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this complex and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I'm thrilled to be working with Rob to bring our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibilities to the screen.”
The plan for the show is to have a new setting every season, similar to games with Mac as the protagonist. Details on a release date or content are still being kept under wraps, but the game gives us everything from the American state of Montana to the Himalayas and cults, mad dictators and pirates, so there's plenty to work with.
“Working with Noah Hawley was a dream,” Mac added. Mac also worked with Ubisoft on Apple's Mythic Quest, in which he played a game developer.
“Ubisoft has been incredibly generous to entrust us with one of the most iconic video game worlds of all time. Through it all, my FX family has inspired me with their unwavering belief and support.”
