No new F1 game in 2026, next season will launch as a paid expansion for F1 25

EA announced today that the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship will be available as a paid expansion to the existing F1 25. Content updates will reflect all the changes coming to the sport over the next year, including new cars, new drivers and new rules.
The next full game in the series will be released in 2027. According to today's announcement, it will “reimagine a broader experience with new ways to play for fans around the world.” EA explained that the plan is part of the publisher's “multi-year strategic investment” in the F1 series.
“F1 25 has been an incredible success, driven by the passion of the fans and the energy of the sport,” said Lee Mather, senior creative director at Codemasters. “With Formula 1 gaining momentum on and off the track, now is the perfect time for us to look ahead and build for the future.
