City-building RTS Anno 117: Pax Romana has just been released, and eagle-eyed fans noticed clear signs of AI artwork on one of the loading screens. But publisher Ubisoft isn't denying this, promising to replace the artwork in an upcoming update.
This image was originally discovered by user Redditas shown below. The scene is set at a Roman banquet, and the background elements and characters suffer from some common AI errors, including misshapen faces and bodies that don't match human physiology. It might not even be the only AI image in the game, because my city pointed out another image in which a pair of Roman senators lost their heads.
A Ubisoft spokesperson said IGN The original version of the banquet art should be replaced in the final version of the game.
“This image is a placeholder asset that inadvertently slipped through our review process,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said. “The final image… will replace the current version of the artwork with the upcoming 1.3 patch.”

As shown above, the final image appears to be a retouched version of the AI picture. This makes the origin of the image less obvious. Ubisoft acknowledged that other AI tools were used for “iteration, prototyping, and exploration.” Regardless, the company stressed that the final version of the game “reflects the team's craftsmanship, artistry, and creative freedom.”
This isn't the only game to receive criticism for its artificial intelligence recently. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Artificial intelligence was apparently used to create the game's “Ghibli-style” calling card. Activision later admitted that some Artificial intelligence was used in the production of Black Ops 7. Arc Raiders also Read aloud using AI voice-over. Congressman Ro Khanna then Call for regulation About the use of artificial intelligence.
