Metroid Prime 1-3: A visual review Amazon has over 20% off. This beautiful hardcover book, normally priced at $50, is now on sale for $39.66 (originally $50). This is the first major discount since the official art book went on sale on October 28. Amazon doesn't list an end date for the sale, so Metroid fans should grab a copy while they can. Flipping through this 210-page, fully illustrated retrospective is a great way to pass the time until “Metroid 4: Beyond” Launching December 4th.

As a long-time Metroid fan, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the behind-the-scenes details and insights from the team behind the Metroid Prime trilogy. Not only is it a fun read, but it's a truly gorgeous book that will look great on any bookcase or display shelf.

This hardcover book is wrapped in fabric, giving it a premium look and feel. An illustration of Samus in his Varia suit is etched on the cover in metallic gold, and when the book is turned to the light, it sparkles, somewhat like a piece of lenticular art. There is a small Metroid Prime logo engraved in the center of the back cover.

The retrospective is printed on high-quality, single-fed art paper, and the pages are sewn to the binding for added durability.

Each page is filled with full-color concept art and sketches, many of which are accompanied by background descriptions or producer notes from the Retro Studios team developing each game.

Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Review covers the development of the original Metroid Prime (2002) for the GameCube, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004), Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007), and Metroid Prime Remastered (2023).

The foreword is written by Kensuke Tanabe, the producer of the “Metroid Prime” series, and the four parts are introduced by developers from Retro Studios.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Collectibles

The retrospective is one of the recently released collectibles featuring Metroid Prime Trilogy and Metroid Beyond. Last week, Nintendo released two Three Metroid Prime 4 Amiibo figures. The new Samus Aran Amiibo will cost $30, while the larger Samus & Vi-O-La Amiibo (the bounty hunter's new motorcycle) will cost $40.
