Crystal Dynamics lays off 30 more employees in third wave of layoffs this year

Crystal Dynamics laid off another 30 employees today in a restructuring, the third wave of layoffs this year.
The news was announced by Crystal Dynamics In a post on LinkedInin which the company said it would “restructure the company and business for our next generation.”
As industry realities continue to evolve for our players, we make these painful choices as a way to optimize the continued development of our flagship Tomb Raider and shape the rest of the studio to create new games for the future.
Crystal Dynamics has previously been fired In August this year, an unknown number of workers follow Xbox cancels Perfect DarkCrystal Dynamics has always supported. it's also laid off 17 employees earlier this yearand 10 more in 2023 The group acquired Crystal in 2022 as part of a massive restructuring by parent company Embracer Group. At the time of the acquisition, Crystal Dynamics had 273 employees in offices in Austin, Bellevue and San Mateo. It's unclear how many employees it now has.
Currently, Tomb Raider is Crystal Dynamics' only known project and is expected to be published by Amazon Games. Earlier this year it released Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, and last year it released remasters of the first three Tomb Raider films and Legacy of Kane: Soul Reaver 1 and 2. Its last completely original project was 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers, Received lukewarm reviews.
IGN reached out to Crystal Dynamics for comment and more details about the layoffs, but the company referred us back to its LinkedIn statement without further comment.
