Marvel Rivals Season 5 Channel Launches X-Men Animated Series, Gambit and Rogue Joined as Playable Characters

NetEase Games releases a trailer inspired by the X-Men animated series marvel rival Season 5: Love is Like a Battlefield, the newest playable characters are Rogue and Gambit.

The trailer for the latest season of NetEase's hit hero shooter goes with a romantic theme, putting everyone's favorite X-Men couple center stage. It includes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it trailer starring none other than Scott Summers, aka Cyclops. It sounds like original X-Men 97 voice actors AJ LoCascio (Ghosts) and Lenore Zann (Rogue) can be heard voicing the two lovebirds when Season 5 launches on November 14, 2025. “This season centers on Mr. and Mrs. “To make up for the hiatus, Gambit plans a surprise-filled honeymoon for Rogue. But when their journey leads to a world built by the Elders of the Universe, will their love survive the ultimate cosmic test?”

Gambit leads the way in Marvel Rivals Season 5 as its first playable hero and next strategist. The card-throwing, scepter-wielding X-Man is said to blend his athleticism and combat skills to give players a unique playstyle. Expect to see his powers heal allies, remove negative effects, and even apply counter-healing on enemies. Gambit starts later this week, but we'll have to wait to learn more about Rogue. She and her energy-absorbing abilities are expected to debut in the Marvel Rivals Season 5 mid-season update in about a month.

In addition to the new X-Men heroes, Marvel Rivals Season 5 will introduce a new 18 vs. 18 Conquest (Annihilation) mode in the new Great Garden map launching on November 27th. Season 5 will also introduce a new non-combat map, Times Square, which will allow up to 100 players to gather, dance and mingle between intense matches.

NetEase will also soon be celebrating the first anniversary of its Marvel counterpart with a special anniversary update. Those who participate in the festivities, which begins on November 27, will receive 2,500 gifts, as well as a free school-themed Jeff the Land Shark costume. As Marvel Rivals Season 5 gets underway, more gameplay tweaks, accessories, anniversary costumes, and other updates will arrive.
