'Saints Row' developer says no one can compete with 'GTA'

The entire video game industry is paying attention right now Grand Theft Auto 6. Whenever it comes, and no matter what Rockstar's competitors do, the next GTA is going to be a blockbuster. In fact, Saints Row designer Chris Stockman believes that Saints Row no longer competes with Grand Theft Auto.

“You have to be someone else,” Stockman said in one appearance. FRVR’s Podcast. “You can't compete with them anymore. You can't. It's impossible. You can't make a Western game and try to compete with Red Dead.”

Stockman went on to describe GTA Online's continued success as a “lifestyle” that “pushes it beyond just gaming.” Rather than trying to take Grand Theft Auto's crown, Stockman suggested that someone could do it. Second place games like GTA.

“The industry is bigger than ever in terms of people's desire for gaming,” Stockman said. “People crave new experiences. I think it's totally possible to be second, and there's nothing wrong with trying to be second if you handle it right. You don't go crazy, you stay very focused, you don't look at GTA as your north star and say, 'I want to be like that.' You have a clear identity and that's what you're trying to do. You don't have to be a 100-hour masterpiece, you just have to be smart about it.”

Stockmann recently revealed that he had been asked Promoting the sequel to “Saints Row”but the project is not yet fully integrated. The latest game in the series is the 2022 Saints Row reboot.

At present, there is no official new “Saints Row” game, and the wait time for “GTA 6” is longer, in fact Online fans are not satisfied. Unless the release date is changed again, “Grand Theft Auto 6” will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
