Are you still unsure whether you should support Auntie's Choice or Order? The Outer World 2? The two factions are not only at odds with each other. With very different ideologies, they were actually preparing for war. Of course, you can step in and make an agreement between the two, or you can fight both at your own risk. We give you all the details in the article, but be prepared Major spoilers.
Fair scheduling and computation of computer brain tasks
There are several interlocking missions that are part of the overall arc, and you can side with Auntie's Choice or the Ascending Order. Here's what you need to know:
- In the main mission called “Highland Demon”, you can choose to spare or kill Augustin de Vries. What matters here is that your actions ensure the survival of the diplomatic representative.
- After debriefing back on the ship, you'll be able to travel to three destinations: ACS Undisputed Claims, the Monastery, and the Archon.
- The new main mission – “Computing with a Computer Brain” – requires you to take control of the Cloister Archives. You can do this yourself or get support from Auntie's Choice and/or your order in advance. If you complete this main quest without helping either faction, getting their help will be pointless and unnecessary.
- When you talk to representatives of both factions, you'll gain access to additional side quests. Complete these tasks as you see fit to gain an audience with Aunt Cleo (Auntie's Choice) and Ruth Bartha (Order). You will also have another quest called “A Fair Arrangement”.
- Later, Cleo and Barcelona will have a remote video call. Depending on your dialogue responses, you will be able to maintain peace between the two organizations. In turn, they help you as you delve deeper into the Archives and as you reach the final area of the game/the point of no return.
Note 1: It's a good idea to have high presentation skills to see more responses during negotiations.
Note 2: Killing too many NPCs/troops belonging to a certain faction will lower your reputation among them. Killing an intact NPC, such as a faction leader, will cause the group to become permanently hostile.
Note 3: You can take the Archives yourself – either if the peace talks fail or if you travel to the location immediately. However, this may force you to make a decision about whose side you want to be on. It can also lead to permanent hostility between rival factions.
