Battlefield lead producer David Sirland took to social media to clarify how the Battlefield studio uses bots in the game. Battlefield 6 Multiplayer to keep players engaged.
It's no secret that EA's latest entry in the Battlefield series uses bots to populate standard matches that struggle to fill the ranks with real-world players. This caused some confusion in the community as fans tried to understand when, how, and why BF Studios implemented them in online matches.
Sealand Bring to X/Twitter shed light on the bot situation, explicitly calling attention to the “chaos” he hopes to eliminate among the player base. The post thread explains why some people may see more bots than others, and promises that EA and BF Studios will continue to listen to feedback from Battlefield 6 multiplayer fans.
Ever since Battlefield 6 launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series EA proudly declares It has successfully sold 7 million copies In just three days, it left many wondering why they were being thrown into a bot-filled competition less than a month after launch.
Sirland explained that players should only fight Battlefield 6 bots in unique situations. Specifically, bots will be introduced as a last resort if the wait time before a round exceeds three minutes, but that doesn't mean you'll be forced to work with dozens of AI teammates in 30-minute Conquest matches.
“At this point, the game starts and you can play with the robot without waiting,” Theran explained. “Other players in the same region who are matching on the same playlist – will join that server (because it has you). Each time a player joins, the bot will leave.”
It's a sacrifice that allows players to get into matches with as little wait time as possible, but at the cost of filling the lobby with real people. Even if the bots only temporarily fill a match, it sounds like BF Studios prefers this deal over the alternative where wait times could last forever for less populated servers.
2: You can’t see other players
Well, the reason is that you are number one. You need to stick with it (or at least give it a minute or two, or you're willing to try and wait)
We can and will test longer wait limits for torrent bot launches, but please spread the word!— David Sealand (@tiggr_) November 5, 2025
one exceptions to the rule The bots were eventually replaced by real players when it came to beginner playlists like Initiation Breakthrough. As the in-game mode description makes clear, bots will stick around during these matches to help players warm up for the often more intense real-person matches.
Bots have been a hot topic in the Battlefield 6 community for months, and BF Studios has addressed the issues About XP Farm and Public beta bot Many times in the past. Battlefield Portal fans and regulars on multiplayer playlists have almost certainly encountered bots at some point, and many will no doubt continue to complain as post-launch development continues.
“Like I said in this thread earlier today, bots are only being launched for the torrent servers,” Theran said in response to a fan who expressed concerns about the bot system. “The alternative in this case is to have no server. We will of course also check for issues here and when the server is spawned in the wrong way, or when it shouldn't be spawned.”
As post-launch development continues, the Battlefield 6 teams at EA and BF Studios continue to listen to fan feedback. Recent changes include Overhaul of challenge requirements, Resize Conquest Ticketand a plan Restores aim assist to settings seen during public beta testing in August. Season 1 of Battlefield 6 and its standalone offshoot REDSEC has launched going wellmore maps and weapons will arrive in the coming weeks.
