Battlefield 6 gets “major” overhaul of challenges and missions, with challenge requirements “significantly” reduced

Battlefield 6 Developer BF Studios has announced a “major” overhaul of challenges and missions, with “substantial” changes across the board.
BF Studios says the changes (outlined in the patch notes below) build on recent updates that increased XP earned in official matches and reduced the XP required for the first 20 attachment levels.
“This update significantly reduces challenge requirements, reducing time commitment while maintaining a focus on skill-driven progression that rewards sustained play,” BF Studios explains. “Challenges and assignments are aligned around defined playtime goals, and these changes align their requirements with those goals, making them more achievable within a reasonable session length.”
BF Studios continues: “The range of missions will continue to range from objectives you can complete through regular gameplay to some that reward true mastery, particularly those related to cosmetics. Some of the original standards didn't fully reflect this intention, and we've updated them to make their difficulty and purpose clearer.”
The first set of changes went live today (November 5) via a server-side update and are available immediately. When you enter a match, any progress you've already made will be automatically applied, unlocking any challenges or tasks you now encounter based on updated criteria.
BF Studios says its planned challenges and missions are “large in scale and will be delivered through multiple server-side and client-side updates,” so players can expect more updates in the future.
While Battlefield 6 had a record-breaking launch, some criticized the pace of in-game progress, and this update hopes to address that issue. Other popular topics include Battlefield 6 multiplayer map size compared to previous gamesand Inappropriate soldier skin.

Community Update – Challenge and Mission Changes Patch Notes:
In this first set of changes, we made over 90 adjustments to challenges and assignments. Below we highlight some examples.
Classroom Challenge
Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon challenges now complete faster.
- Assault 2: Have squad members deploy on your spawn beacon.
- Number of deployments reduced from 50 to 5.
- Support 2: Resurrect teammates as support.
- Number of resurrections reduced from 200 to 60.
weapons distribution
All weapon type assignments (AR, SMG, LMG, Shotgun, DMR, Sniper, Carbine) have been significantly simplified.
- Rapid Fire 1/Assault Rifle: Use an assault rifle to deal damage.
- Damage dealt reduced from 10,000 to 3,000.
Mode and unit assignment
Most of our mode-specific missions (Conquest, Sprint, Breakthrough, Domination, etc.) have been standardized to require two wins per tier. This change makes it easier to address these challenges with clear intent.
- Conquest 2: Victory through conquest.
- Reduced from 5 wins to 2 wins.
- Conquest 3: Achieve target kills in a round of Conquest.
- Number of target kills per round reduced from 30 to 10.
Gameplay and Mastery
General Expert and Master missions that require multiple kills, headshots, killstreaks, or resurrections have been adjusted to better match the natural rhythm of the game. For example, multi-kill and streak goals now align with average round performance rather than being rare and unusual achievements.
- Explosives Expert 2: Get multiple kills (2+ kills or more) with explosives.
- Multikill count reduced from 20 to 5.
- Adaptability 2: Repair damaged vehicles in life.
- Reduced from requiring 3000 damage to 500 damage.
