“Today marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the first trailer for Escape from Tarkov. As the beta test comes to an end, we want to thank you for your support and the opportunity to create a universe that unites players around the world,” the team said. “Countless updates, Tarkov TV episodes and in-game events – none of this would be possible without you, our players.
“On November 15th, we will turn a new page with you. At the same time, we invite you to check out the rewards you can get for pre-ordering and participating in the beta test.”
The release of Escape from Tarkov version 1.0 was not without controversy, however. fan Battlestate Games has come under criticism after the developer confirmed that players will need to repurchase the full game if they want to play it on Steam.
It'll be interesting to see how Escape from Tarkov stacks up against current extraction shooter darlings, Arclight Guide. It has a peak concurrent player count of 354,836 on Steam, making it one of the largest extraction shooters ever released on Valve's platform. Another major competitor could be Bungie's upcoming marathon.
