There are a lot of upcoming Warhammer video games, but one I didn’t expect to add to my list: Warhammer Survivors.
It's a Warhammer take on the indie hit, vampire survivordeveloped in partnership with Poncle (Luca Galante), the creator of the beloved fast-paced rogue-like game. In fact, Warhammer Survivor uses poncle's Vampire Survivor engine.
Warhammer Survivor lets you play as characters from Warhammer 40,000 (dark far future) and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar (fantasy), and it's a survivor game where your mission is to eliminate endless hordes of enemies in a “pixel vomit” game. The game will launch in 2026 and will be developed and published by Auroch Digital (Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun).
Here is the official synopsis:
Part of the official Survivor lineage, this standalone game brings the familiar endless waves of enemies with fresh twists, iconic characters, and powerful weapons, packaged in an all-new environment. Or should we say, set!
Players can choose from the universes of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, leading a cast of iconic characters against hordes of ruthless enemies. Weapons and power-ups can be combined into devastating new forms, creating a screen-clearing storm of bullets, blades, and magic.
Try new strategies with each run and unlock new characters, upgrades, weapon combinations, as well as secrets and collectibles waiting to be discovered.
On the 40K side, playable characters include Malum Caedo, the hero from Warhammer 40,000: Bolter, the Cadian Shock Trooper, Trooper Kozlowski, and Brother Luca, the Space Marine intercessor against the Tyranids.
“Age of Sigmar” features Neve Blacktalon, Gotrek Gunnison, warriors of God-King Sigmar, and Sharyn Azurath, the Stormforged Eternal Conqueror armed with a celestial greatsword. Their opponents are the Skaven.
