GameStop announces Halo War is officially over on PS5

Following the announcement Halo: Campaign Evolved Will Coming soon to PS5 As well as Xbox Series X|S and PC, GameStop used its status as a “neutral entity” to officially declare the decades-long console wars officially over.
According to a tongue-in-cheek statement Post to X According to GameStop, the company attributes the start of “the ongoing and increasingly trivial conflict known as the console wars” to the 2001 release of Xbox exclusive Halo: Combat Evolved. Now that Microsoft has announced that a remastered version of the game, Halo: Campaign Evolved, will be coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026, GameStop has announced that the infamous console wars are officially over.
“All claims to exclusivity will be lifted. Console loyalists are directed to cease hostilities, disband their militias, and enjoy this new era of gaming,” GameStop's directive reads.
While the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved isn't as clear an end to console exclusivity as the GameStop post suggested, it's a significant move away from Xbox exclusivity. While the company has previously released a number of other major exclusive franchises for PlayStation, including war machine and Forza Horizon 5Halo has long been Xbox's flagship series. but Halo is coming to PlayStation keep going.
Xbox executor Matt Booty explains Xbox is looking to get to where gamers are, even if that means releasing games on rival consoles. So far, the strategy has been implemented on Xbox, with its previously exclusive franchises seeing A big hit on PlayStation.
