Escape from Dukov With sales exceeding 500,000 over the weekend and massive concurrent sales, it's unlikely that the game will be a big hit on Steam.
The number of players in the imitating extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov peaked at 173,394 on the Valve platform. That's enough to make it the sixth most popular game on Steam right now. Currently, the only popular games are “Delta Force”, “Battlefield 6”, “PUBG”, “Dota 2” and “Counter-Strike 2”.
Escape from Duckov is a PVE top-down looter shooter where you scavenge for resources, build hideouts, and upgrade equipment. “Start from scratch and climb to the top,” reads the official synopsis. “Outsmart hostile ducks and survive, or make it out alive.”
Team Soda's game launched on October 16 and sold an additional 500,000 copies over the weekend. Its Steam user review rating is pretty good, with an “overwhelmingly positive” rating. “At this moment, the entire development team was squealing with joy and flapping their wings with excitement!” read a statement.
Meanwhile, Escape from Tarkov will be available on Steam on November 15th. We'll have to wait and see if it can surpass Escape from Dakov's peak concurrent users on the platform. A console version is under development.
Escape shooters could be a huge hit, especially on PC. For example, Arc Raiders recently enjoyed Steam's high concurrency in its “Server Slam” game testwhich bodes well for a late October release date. Then we will welcome “Escape from Tarkov” in half a month.
