Amazon's massive network outage knocks Fortnite, Roblox offline

If you can't log in and play some of your favorite games like fortnite and Roblox,you are not alone. Amazon's AWS hosting service has reportedly experienced a massive outage, affecting various services that use the company's cloud services.

according to British Broadcasting CorporationAffected video game services around the world include PlayStation Network, Pokemon Go, Rocket League and Wordle, as well as Fortnite and Roblox.

In updateAmazon Web Services said it's starting to see “clear signs of recovery” and is continuing to work through a backlog of queued requests. “We have identified a potential root cause of DynamoDB API error rates in the US-EAST-1 region,” Amazon said. “We are working on multiple parallel paths to speed recovery.”

In addition to gaming apps, disruptions were also felt across numerous banking services and programs around the world. Earlier today, Ookla's platform outage monitor DownDetector said it had logged more than 4 million reports, more than double what you typically see on a standard weekday morning.
