Japanese fans at the game Pokémon Legend ZA A rare reference to Pikachu pooping was discovered. However, the game's English translation tweaked the dialogue and instead simply mentioned that Pikachu was experiencing “tummy issues.”
according to Automata“Pikachu poop” briefly became popular on X among some Japanese users after a Lumiose City NPC was discovered mentioning that their Pokémon was unwell. “Pikachu is having more bowel movements than usual and I'm worried,” the character reportedly said.
There is no follow-up dialogue, preventing players from learning more details about Pikachu's bowel habits. Still, this mention is noteworthy, as Pokémon actually rarely mentions the creatures needing to poop.

The Pokémon series makes occasional references to Pokémon poop, suggesting that some species' poop makes good fertilizer (Diglit), while other species' poop can be dangerously explosive (Turtonator). My particular favorite illustrated book mentions Damoka, a fire creature whose “feces are very hot, so people often put them in their clothes to keep warm.” Charming.
Back to Pikachu, and Pokémon Legends: ZA's English translation of the above scene. As seen by IGN, the explicit reference to poop has been replaced by the following dialogue: “My Pikachu has been having tummy troubles lately. I'm worried…”
The English dialogue feels like a polish on the game's original script, though that's in keeping with a franchise about wild animals that tries to avoid some of the less family-friendly aspects of life as much as possible. Breeding, death, and Pokémon eating other Pokémon for food are all classics in the series—although it's increasingly rare to hear these elements mentioned in the series' games or anime.
Earlier today, IGN reported on a viral post Discuss whether Pokémon can eat human food There's no chance of severe indigestion, thanks to the ability to take in-game photos of your character and their Pokémon hanging out in a cafe.
