Pokémon Go's new level cap requirements have been leaked, with some fans saying the new XP total required and some of the extra tasks involved are too easy.
This week, Pokémon Go Raising the current level cap of 50 for the first time in five years and allowing players to reach level 80 for the first time. But this change will come with an overall rebalancing of XP – meaning many players will find themselves promoted to a higher level and potentially well beyond the XP required to reach level 80 immediately.
Of course, players won't simply log in and find themselves at the finish line. As is currently the case, a new set of additional tasks will need to be completed to complete the game's final levels (from level 70 to level 80, replacing similar tasks required from level 40 to level 50). But even these – which have been data-mined by fans – are thought to be fairly simple.
Last night, one postal The official Pokémon Go blog lists the new XP requirements required when the game's level cap increases on October 15.
Pokémon Go rebalances XP requirements:
- Level 10: Total XP 48,000
- Level 20: Total XP 258,000
- Level 30: Total XP 1,083,000
- Level 40: Total XP 3,953,000
- Level 50: Total XP 12,753,000
- Level 60: Total XP 34,353,000
- Level 70: Total XP 85,853,000
- Level 80: Total XP 203,353,000
It's interesting to compare these new totals to the amount of XP now required to reach the game's level 50 cap. Currently, reaching level 50 requires a lifetime total of 176 million XP. (This week, after the game was rebalanced, level 50 will only cost 12.75 million XP.) This means that the new level 80 cap will only cost 27 million XP more than the current level 50.
While it's already been obvious that Pokémon Go's new level cap will be in sync with the overall smoothness of the game's overall XP requirements, die-hard fans were still surprised to learn that many of them would reappear in Pokémon Go's new endgame with little to no actual XP grinding required.
Keep up those upgrade missions, fans are checking out Data mining list What is required, we think the requirements are fairly simple. Each level requires players to hold an increasing number of in-game platinum medals, although these can be earned in ways that reflect your playstyle. Some take time – purifying 100 Shadow Pokémon – but with a plan, there's nothing here to keep hardcore players off for too long.
In fact, fans were visibly relieved that there weren't any artificial time limits – like the requirement to catch a Pokémon within 30 days, delaying progress by a month – that had been seen in other previous challenges.

Through these missions, as well as Pokémon Go's new XP rebalancing, it's clear that the game is adjusting itself for new players and leveling the playing field to an extent, so new players have a chance to catch up with those who have been playing for nearly a decade. With the game approaching its 10th anniversary next year, its developers may want to ensure that Pokémon Go continues to welcome new blood to its user base without giving them an XP mountain that's too steep to climb. But some veterans were less impressed.
“These are easy,” wrote top Pokémon Go fan Old_Inmination_4379 reddit Silk Road.
“I'm extremely disappointed,” added another fan, avaible17. “I'm currently at 352M experience points, which I suspect is a very impressive number for most veteran players. I want a challenge and motivation to play, and I have simple and repetitive missions, most of which can be completed in a day (except walking).
“I hope to introduce new types of medals that will take my grind beyond human capabilities,” they continued. “Now as I write this I think they just make it easier for beginners rather than more challenging for older dogs.”
New rewards for leveling up will include permanent upgrades to Pokémon, inventory and gift storage, as well as an increased chance of earning Lucky Friend status when players reach level 70 and above. Finally, and most mysteriously, there is a new 1km daily adventure incubator for players level 15+. In addition to the game's current Daily Adventure Incense item, which rewards players with an additional 15 minutes of spawning, it is also designed to reward players for walking at least 1km per day.
However, exactly which Pokémon the Daily Adventure Incubator will spawn remains unknown – although fans have speculated that the mechanic will eventually include an ultra-rare Pokémon (Manaphy and Phione seem to be a good choice!), similar to how Daily Adventure Incense has a rare chance of spawning a Galar Legendary Bird.
Overnight, Pokémon Go's development team fixed A major bug yesterday that bricked the game for people completing the first weekly challenge. one information A post on Niantic's support social media accounts last night offered some XP and Stardust as an apology to affected players, but did not say whether the weekly challenges feature would return next week.
