Borderlands 4 Developer Gearbox has issued a seven-day warning to fans: Melted versions of bosses based on “unexpected interactions” will be nerfed next week.
Borderlands 4 is packed with powerful builds that use what developer Gearbox describes as “unexpected interactions” to deal massive damage, even against the hardest bosses in the game. The most notorious of these is the “crit knife” Gearbox says it knows. But there is there are many others.
Gearbox has spent the first few weeks since Borderlands 4's launch focusing on improving performance and polishing underperforming gear, rather than nerfing something or eliminating those broken builds. But it's time for a change.
Borderlands 4 creative director Graeme Timmins Tweet it Say “There will be some changes next week to specific gear and those unexpected interactions, here's your 7 day notice ;)”
Next week's update will also include “a series of improvements to stability, performance, and some highly requested quality of life changes!” Gearbox has added on the official account.
“Looking ahead to next week, we're planning another round of tweaks focused on Class Mods, Repkits, Shields, and firmware to provide greater viability for melee builds and address bugs in other specific Vault Hunter builds,” Gearbox said. “We'll also be addressing unexpected interaction issues in some Vault Hunter skills and making adjustments to gear that perform well. Importantly, next week's update will include a range of stability, performance improvements, and some highly requested quality of life changes!”
Today, October 9th, there's a small update focusing on minor tweaks to the gear. Patch notes via Borderlands 4 website,as follows.
