Fortnite skips pride this year

Fortnite skipped the pride celebration in 2025 since celebrating the annual small-scale rainbow royal event that celebrated members of the LGBTQIA+ community four years ago.
Fortnite has held its annual pride event, Rainbow Royale, every year since 2021, sometime in the summer. This has never been a particularly huge event as it consists primarily of a bunch of free rainbow-colored items in the item store, such as bows and dips. In 2022, they even have a Pride-themed battle bus and some tasks you can complete to unlock Cool Weapon Package and Hammer pickupand put down the skin for DC's Dreamer (Transex Superhero) as part of the celebration, but it's the same as ever. The annual Pride event is not a complete acquisition because it never touches on gameplay for the Battle Contest. The whole thing last year was The only one A store section appeared for a week in June and September.

However, in 2025, Fortnite completely skipped Rainbow Royale. Fortnite has entered October for the first time since EPIC introduced the event, with nothing coming to the scene with Rainbow Royale. So far, there are no free pride items in the store for this calendar year. Mazy skin is a paid cosmetic that is usually included in the Rainbow Royale store section that pops up in the item store just one day in 2025.
We can't say why EPIC chose not to hold any kind of annual Pride event this year, as the company did not respond to our multiple requests for comment. This leads us to speculate that the decision of Epic to skip pride is the result of the new Trump administration’s paranoid attempt to eliminate the U.S. efforts to eliminate diversity and inclusion. We don't know if Epic skips the Pride incident because the leadership agrees with the government's queer policy, whether it just wants to avoid any “controversy” that might play out its rights, or there are other reasons altogether.
But, so far, we’ve spent a whole year watching one company after another become more regressive to keep the presidential administration unadvised (including in the game). Earlier this year, the long-running MMO runescape had a huge dust Skipped the annual pride eventJagex CEO Jon Bellamy said pride “is now controversial in a way that has never been before, and this controversy now brings greater risks than before, and I personally take charge of the risks of protection.”
Bellamy continued: “The game and studio were cancelled as the content was considered 'wake' or representative content. The pendulum was swinging again in a way we didn’t expect.” These comments didn’t have much impact on the LGBTQIA+ community that mitigated the game.
Since Epic has not made any public comments on Rainbow Royale's status, it's hard to see its disappearance, nor do you think Fortnite Maker hedged bets in the same way Jagex did with Runescape.
