For those who want the exact opposite, if you decide to play the game on the highest difficulty setting, you may want to stock on the backup controller, as an error may spell the end of the run.
Ninja Gaiden 4 will allow players to choose from three core difficulties – Hero, Normal and Hard. The Hero Mode can be customized through menu settings, and the protagonists Ryu Hayabusa and Yakumo can focus purely on combat as the mode automatically blocks, escapes, heals and sports functions. Each setting can be turned on or off at any time during the event, designed to help you get familiar with the intense movements of Ninja Gaiden 4.
Once the campaign is cleared for the first time, Ninja Master’s difficulty mode will be unlocked. This adds to the challenge, as even one hit can mean death. Tougher enemy types will appear faster in the campaign, they will strike out of your sight, and they will be harder than ever. To make things more difficult, soldiers wielding rocket launchers will be placed before each checkpoint, so you need to keep on being highly alert. This difficult option cannot be changed during campaigns, so once you have selected it you can get into a painful experience.
For the vertex difficulty setting, Death Wish mode pushes things to the extreme. The entire goal of this option is to pass the Ninja Giden 4's death-free, but it's easier said than done. The game will include a training mode to help you learn the ropes to become the ultimate ninja.
