Released in 1994, the mask is one of three blockbusters starring Jim Carrey that year, cementing his position as Hollywood's next breakthrough star. It's hard to imagine anyone other than Carrey's role with a gentle Stanley Ipkiss and his weird peers, just like the comedian's smile, his smile and his adorable face are key factors in the film's success. Directed by Chuck Russell, the Mask was a big gamble for the distributor’s new series of cinemas, but the box office was impressive at the time with a box office default of $351 million.
The popularity of this film led to an adaptation of the animated series, and a few years later, we really sequels made real Like to forget.
This new version of the mask is a negative 4K fix for the original camera in Arrow Video approved by Russell himself. The 4K version supports high dynamic range – Dolby Vision and HDR10 – as well as lossless stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound and the new Dolby Atmos Mix.

Like this movie? Then check out the original mask comic

The Mask is an adaptation of the comic miniseries of the same name published by Dark Horse Comics. Although the film is light and pleasant when Jim Carrey wears the ancient relics, it plays like a live-action Looney Tunes cartoon, by comparison, the comics that are adapted are darker and more top-of-the-top graphic sexual violence. Jim Carrey's Stanley Ipkiss version is a lovely loser with a golden heart, but the comic version isn't that likable, and once he puts his own cover, he quickly uses his power to ruthlessly avenge everyone who hurts him.
Some of these scenes bring it into the movie, albeit lightly. For example, the mechanic who ransomed Ipkiss was another of his ego shaming, but in the comics they encountered a creepy ending. Other characters are shot dead in cold blood, and the book has no happy ending for Ipkis. If you want to see how ridiculous the original comic is, You can pick it up immediately as part of the Mask Omnibus version Only $23.62 ($30). After the movie became a hit hit, more comic books were made under several creative teams, but no one beat the original mini series than John Arcudi and Doug Mahnke because it was a grim story about revenge, and the absolute corruption of absolute power.
