There is some bad news for those excited to view early access releases Kill the Spike 2. In the nearest one Steam News Posts Announced from developer Mega Crit, the upcoming sequel has been pushed into “Secret Thursday” in March 2026. Roguelike Deckbuilder is originally scheduled to be released in 2025.
In this post, the big mob admits that it’s not the news anyone wants, including itself, but says it will take longer to prepare for the launch of its early visits. “There isn't a dramatic reason,” the post explains. “Something of personal life hit the team (everyone is fine!), and we keep saying, 'If…' too many times at a time, it's not cool, and honestly, the game just needs more polish to meet our standards.”
The post does come with FAQs to ask some possible questions, the first to ask if the delay is due to Famous game delayer Hollow Knight: Silk. Mega Crit explained that the team had actually discussed the delay in the game before announcing the silk release date, saying, “But on the good side, everyone can be busy playing with silk while waiting!”
It also clarified again that the delay is partly due to the fact that there is more content in Spire 2 than the first game. In fact, there is a new feature of the trailer for the substitute. Once they are unlocked, “You will be randomly greeted with one of two possible behaviors. These behaviors are very different in their environment, enemies, events and bosses, all of which greatly increase the diversity of gameplay between runs.”
For example, behavior 1A is called overgrowth, which includes a strange flora and fauna overgrown ruins, while behavior 1B is called the “bottom layer”, “a Miry waterway connected to the steeple sewer system, various mutated marine life and Vagrants may appear.”
Regardless of March 2026, Secret Thursday Kills Spire 2 launching next year, it will be accessible on PC via Steam on PC.
