PUBG ends support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions

The Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5 consoles have a nearly five-year life-long life, and many live service games still support the previous generation of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but that number is always at risk of falling. Today, Coffton announced that it will be the next developer to end support for those last-generation consoles, as Playerunknown's battlefield will no longer be supported on Xbox One and PS4 starting November 13.
Support for PUBG on Xbox One and PS4 will be shut down “during the real-time server maintenance period on November 13, 2025.” Announcements on the official PUBG website. Server maintenance will also enhance the current propagation version, including upgraded resolution and frame rate options.

“It's a serious problem for us to deliver this message to the console player we've enjoyed PUPG on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for so many years,” the announcement post read. “It's not an easy decision to make. It's after a long and careful consideration, pursuing the continued growth and long-term future of the PUBG console. We ask you for your understanding.”
The post also says that PUBG will no longer be downloaded or played on older systems, but all progress made will be saved and carried to the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions. The PlayStation player will have to download and install PS5 specific versions of PUBG playback, while the Xbox player will automatically upgrade to the Series X|S version with the smart delivery feature.
“The support specifications of the current agency console have been determined through extensive technical reviews and internal testing to ensure the most stable and optimized PUBG console gaming experience,” the Post explained. “In particular, memory and graphics specifications have been carefully considered, carefully configured with future content updates to ensure that the system is well prepared to support them smoothly.”
