75% Cyberpunk 2077' Nintendo Switch 2 CD Projekt confirmed that sales are practical.
CD Projekt in its latest Financial performanceconfirm that Action-RPG can not only position itself as one of the Day-Day-Day-One launch games for Nintendo Switch 2, but also provide success by making the game available as a physical medium.
“We believe that the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is beneficial to the (Switch 2) growing user base, thanks to its high quality and Switch 2 exclusive enhancements,” explain Michał Novakovski, co-CEO. “As of June, the vast majority of sales (about 70%) came from physical copies sold, which reflects the strength of our products.”
Novakovski believes that this is partly because “the entire game and its extensions are fully contained on 64 gigabytes, providing a plug and gaming experience that players find particularly attractive.” Of course, it turns out that 75.4% of all Cyberpunk 2077’s Switch 2 sales are real.
As fans continue to argue about publishers’ practice of offering game key cards instead of physical ink cartridges in Switch 2 boxed games. This proves to be a split practice among some users, especially because while it allows collectors to put game boxes on a shelf, they are essentially useless unless your console is connected to the Internet.
However, this practice is so controversial that Nintendo has launched an investigation Designed to survey the Switch 2 user base to survey the ideas of digital and physical gaming and to explore why you might consider one option. Nintendo is also interested in knowing whether your attitude to digital downloads has changed over time.
“Our developers really take full advantage of the console's capabilities, providing a new exclusive way to play Cyberpunk 2077,” Novakovsky added. “We showed them in a series of talks, attracting praise from the player community and gaming media. While we clearly see that the sales of the new console are currently dominated by Nintendo's first party champion, we are one of the best-selling third-party games for Cyberpunk.”
“Switch 2 may be much better than the original game, but I’m still surprised to see the run (very good) on the Nintendo system is Cyberpunk 2077,” we wrote in our Nintendo Switch 2 Cyberpunk 2007 Comment Update. “I spent a few days with the latest port of CD Projekt Red to feel how it works, how it stays, and how the Switch 2’s fantasy new mouse controls work when applied to high octane FPS. The answers on the entire countertop are impressive, and if you’re not exploring the night city, it seems like a solid way to do it.”
Cyberpunk 2077 sequel Cyberpunk 2 has officially entered pre-production. The studio announced the news as part of last month's latest financial results, and the company said the Phantom Free Expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 has sold an impressive 10 million copies.
As for Nintendo's handheld itself? The Nintendo Switch 2 debuted in June, becoming the fastest hardware ever in the United Statesspending on the game to new records. Due to the console's debut, spending on hardware increased 249% year-on-year to $978 million, and surpassed the previous month record of $608 million in June 2008. During the launch month, the Switch 2 sold a total of 1.6 million units, beating the PlayStation 4's previous 1.1 million units sales in November 2013.
